Every cookie this month started as something else. A French pastry. A backyard dessert. A drink you’d order over ice. A jar of jam made from summer fruit. August takes each of those and translates them into cookie form, keeping what made the original worth remembering and rebuilding it around a stuffed cookie instead of a plate, a glass, or a jar.
