February has never been about grand romance for me. It’s about small moments, quiet preferences, and the things we return to carefully—sometimes after years of avoiding them.

This collection grew out of that space. Tiramisu has always been one of my favorite desserts, the kind you order without thinking because it feels grounding. Chocolate-covered cherries, despite being a Valentine’s cliché, were never something I actually received, which made rebuilding that flavor feel oddly personal. Red velvet took the longest. After icing hundreds of red velvet cupcakes in one exhausting stretch years ago, I swore I would never touch red velvet again. This version exists because enough time passed, and I finally felt up to it again. The pistachio chocolate cookie comes from a different place entirely—summer experimentation and the pull toward desserts that feel rich.

These cookies aren’t meant to perform romance. They’re about familiarity, hesitation, and indulgence February doesn’t have to be shiny or sweet to be meaningful. Sometimes it’s just about making something carefully, because it feels right.
